The people of Tamil owe much to Kalaivanar N S Krishnan. Kalaivanar's life is like a kaleidoscope – pleasing, full of surprises, colourful and entertaining.
The cadence of his life was punctuated with humour and humanism. He wanted to usher in a full-fledged rationalistic society. So he appealed to the emotions of the people through his humour. In his acceptance speech of the title 'Kalaivanar', he has confessed that the fountain head of all his art were the trials and tribulations of his early life. It is an understatement to state that he churned honey from husk.
2008 being the centenary year of N S Krishnan, when the government, people of Tamilnadu, Tamilians across the globe are all celebrating to express their devotion, it is only natural for his family to express their affection for and pride in N S Krishnan. Thus resulted the creation of this website – the source being ‘Samuga Vignani Kalaivanar’ authored by Mrs. Anbukkodi Nallathambi. The book was written after about 8 years of research and hard work. Even the most insignificant detail has been authenticated to provide a true account of his life and works.
Mrs Anbukkodi Nallathambi hails from a simple family in Thiruvarur, Tanjore district. She completed her school education in Thiruvarur. She is the first graduate in her family. She is married to Nallathambi, son for N S Krishnan. When she had to choose a topic for her Ph.D.
N S Krishnan’s life and works seemed a natural choice. With the full support and encouragement given by her husband Mr. Nallathambi, she was able to meet Kalaivanar's friends and associates to collect information about N S Krishnan. This is not just because she is the daughter-in-law of NSK, which is only incidental. From her childhood she had been greatly affected by the iniquities of human beings. She supports the needy in whatever way she can, like sponsoring education, contributing to marriages etc. To this day she financially supports Minnamal's family (Kalaivanar's sister) in Nagercoil.
It is because of her inborn qualities of being socio-centric, individulalistic, bold and humane that she chose N S Krishnan as her topic. Without her work on NSK this site would not have been a reality.
